Results from Javier García Navarro (ESR 04)

Javier’s scientific research within the ConCO2rde ITN project aimed to optimize the application of hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria as small factories capable to produce chemical compounds from thin air. In this sense, he explored new enzymes and metabolic routes to synthetize pharmaceutical drug precursors and worked in the development of cultivation systems where these microorganisms can grow using gas as food in a safe setup.
